Paediatric Pain Campaign: It Doesn’t Have to Hurt

I’ve been studying Child Life for the last 7 and a half weeks, and so far one of the key things I have learned has been distraction and how important it is when working with paediatric patients experiencing medical procedures. Something so simple as getting blood drawn may seem like a routine procedure to an adult, but to a child it can be terrifying. However, some simple techniques like those mentioned in the video below are super handy for caregivers or individuals that have to work with children in healthcare settings.
